Terms of Service

Summary: Use WiFi Pulse responsibly for personal network diagnostics. The app is provided "as is" and we're not liable for network issues it helps you discover.
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using WiFi Pulse ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and Hackshare ("we", "our", or "us").
2. License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the App on macOS devices that you own or control
- Use the App for personal, non-commercial network diagnostic purposes
3. Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App or any part of it
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
- Use the App to monitor networks you do not own or have permission to monitor
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Resell, lease, or sublicense the App
- Use the App in a way that could damage, disable, or impair any network or system
4. Network Monitoring Responsibility
WiFi Pulse is designed to help you monitor and diagnose your own network connections. You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you have authorization to monitor any network you analyze
- Complying with all applicable laws regarding network monitoring in your jurisdiction
- Any actions you take based on information provided by the App
Using WiFi Pulse to monitor networks without proper authorization may violate laws and regulations. We are not responsible for any misuse of the App.
5. Intellectual Property
WiFi Pulse, including its code, design, graphics, and documentation, is owned by Hackshare and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand features.
6. Third-Party Services
The App may interact with third-party services for functionality such as:
- Public IP address lookup (ipify.org, icanhazip.com, ifconfig.me)
- Captive portal detection (Apple's captive.apple.com)
- DNS resolution services
Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
7. Updates
We may release updates to the App from time to time. Updates may include bug fixes, new features, or security improvements. While we strive to maintain backward compatibility, some updates may change or remove functionality.
You are not obligated to install updates, but some features may not work correctly without them.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will meet your specific requirements
- The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The diagnostic information provided will be accurate or reliable
- Any defects in the App will be corrected
Network diagnostics are inherently variable and depend on many factors outside our control. The metrics displayed by WiFi Pulse are informational and should not be relied upon as definitive measures of network performance.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HACKSHARE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Network downtime or connectivity issues
- Decisions made based on App diagnostics
- Costs of substitute services
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App, if any.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hackshare and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Your unauthorized monitoring of networks
11. Termination
These Terms are effective until terminated. Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its provisions.
Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and destroy any copies in your possession.
We reserve the right to discontinue the App or any features at any time without notice.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
13. International Use
The App is available for download globally. If you access the App from outside the United States, you are responsible for compliance with local laws. Some features may not be available or may function differently in certain regions.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hackshare regarding the App and supersede any prior agreements.
16. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, providing notice within the App.
Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
